Kitchen Prep Team AM

Italian Corner Deli in East Providence is hiring a kitchen prep team member for our 8:00am - 3pm shift.

Our kitchen operates 7 days a week. This position requires availability on both weekend days.

The Prep position is responsible for preparing ingredients for our sandwich line as well as ingredients used in the production of scratch made soups, sauces and salads. Candidates should have the ability to work well independently and with a team. Strong time management, organizational and knife skills are required. The ability to follow a prep list and prepare items using set recipes is a must.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency 
  • Work effectively within a team environment
  • Ability to prepare ingredients following recipes and follow food safety guidelines
  • Strong understanding of food preparation practices
  • Strong knife skills
  • Ability to use a meat slicer
  • Ability to follow recipes and comply with company procedures and food safety policies
  • Strong understanding of proper sanitation practices and safe food handling practices
  • Ability to maintain a clean and orderly kitchen area by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces and taking out trash
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs without assistance
  • 1+ years kitchen experience or equivalent training
  • Basic math skills
  • Able to read and understand English
  • ServeSafe certified preferred, but not required

Pay rates start at $16/hr. A percentage of tips are pooled for kitchen staff.

Full time and part time opportunities are available.
